The Grand Opening of the Alberta Centre for Trapping & Bush Craft was hosted out at Teen Time Ranch,
on the RFMA on the weekend of September 10th - 12th

From the Government of Alberta, we welcomed Deputy Minister of Alberta Environment and Parks, Bev Yee who cut the ribbon at the Opening Ceremony. Her words were from the heart and appreciated by all.

Travis Ripley, Executive Director, Fish and Wildlife Stewardship, Environment and Parks was present and spoke his affirmation of the vision for the Alberta Centre for Trapping & Bushcraft.

Assistant Deputy Minister of Resource Stewardship Division, Environment and Parks, Tom Davis was also in attendance.

It was also great to have the Alberta Treaty 8 Trappers Association present with their booth. Working together on the landscape for the future.

In the Vendor Tent, we had Cory Grover from Lights Out Snaring, The Alberta Trappers Association Youth Camp Level 3’s, Reuben Wiebe with Reuben’s Fur, Wendy Poseluzny with Native Wild and Natural Canadian Fur Products, ATA Trapper & Public Education - Ross Hinter, Joanne Potter, Bruce Beiraugle with Antique Traps.

Robert Anderson, Senior Biologist of the Alberta Conservation Association
Mike Haire with Forest Management Planning & Trappers.
We saw many members attend from the bush craft community including Kelly Harlton of Wildside Wilderness Connection, Hayley Rothenberg of Elements by Hayley and Rob Brouwer from Bearpaw Bushcraft. Thank you to Kelly and Hayley for manning the Registration Booth on Friday.
In the Kids events we were happy to have Rene Schaub, president of the Alberta Target Archers Association, recipient of several awards over decades of experience in coaching and long term contribution to the sport of Archery in Canada. Thank you to Joe & Pauline Gauthier, McMurray Coin and Norm Dube for sponsoring this event.
Saturday evening was finished off with a Live Auction by Joe Gauthier, several thousand dollars was raised for Education as well as for the Fundraiser for Ken Hildebrand’s Prosthetic Leg Fund.
