Day On The Trapline

This day is designed for those that don’t have any trapping friends or family members that can teach you.

 

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE CONTACTED BY THE ATA AND INVITED TO JOIN US ON THE TRAPLINE FOR THIS WORKSHOP

Overview:

 

You will spend one day on the ATA’s Trap Line, with one of our certified instructors, learning skills:

 

• Reading the landscape and signs for optimal trap setting

• Managing the line, retrieving catches and resetting

• The Do’s and Don’ts, ins and outs of Trapping in Alberta

 

The course is free of charge, you will be responsible for your own expenses. We will provide the trapping equipment.

 

The idea of this program is to give you hands-on experience to help you get started as a licensed trapper.

 

We will expose you to different sets and what to look for so you can feel more confident and able to know where to make your sets in your own area.
