Just completed the 7 day advanced trapping course and I had an absolutely amazing time.
Spent the 7 days on the line with Hunter setting out Marten/Fisher boxes, Coyote footholds and snares, Under ice Beaver and Muskrat sets, Lynx cubbies and Squirrel sets.
Also had the chance to learn how to skin and board a variety of furs. Otter, Marten, Beaver, Coyote, Muskrat and Squirrel
Hunter is an amazing instructor, he was very professional, knowledgeable and informative. Glad to have also have had the chance to spend some time with Ross learn from him and to hear all his amazing stories.
Definitely a must do course if you’re new and looking to gain the confidence and knowledge before setting out your own.
Will definitely be back to attend more classes

7 Day Advanced Course
I signed up for the traditional tanning fox hide, and I highly suggest everyone to take the course!
The ladies who were teaching the course were extremely knowledgeable and super fun and helpful.
The experience and determination that it takes to tan a hide in the traditional way is truly a sight to see and to do.
I'm very much looking forward to another course with the alberta Trappers Association.
